SCHOLARSHIPS

Assistant & Equipment Manager Certification Scholarship

Qualifications

Qualified applicants must be a current NWIGCSA member and have been a member for one full year, have participated in at least one “Monthly Meeting” during that period and work for a Class A or Class B Superintendent who is a current NWIGCSA Member.  All applicants must be members of the GCSAA.

Application

Submit your name and contact information along with a short paragraph stating which certification you would like to work towards and why you think you should be chosen.  Applications must be emailed to the NWIGCSA Scholarship Committee no later than 5 p.m. on February 28, 2020.

Rule

Scholarship awards must be used solely for the materials and testing involved with the GCSAA Assistant Superintendent Certificate Series or the GCSAA Equipment Managers Certification Program including the TETCP Level 1 and/or the TETCP Level 2 certificate series.

Award

The NWIGCSA will select 1 scholarship winner from the Class C applicants and 1 scholarship winner from the Class EM applicants. Scholarships will be awarded at the March Educational Meeting.

Funding

The Assistant & Equipment Manager Certification Scholarship is funded by the John Buck Memorial in conjunction with J.W. Turf.



NWIGCSA Student Scholarship - $1,000

Qualifications

Must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Any full time student currently enrolled in a turf-related program going into the turf industry.
  • Any student in any field of study who has an immediate family member that is a Member of the NWIGCSA and has been in good standing  with the Chapter for a minimum of 3 years.

Application

Submit your name and contact information along with a short paragraph stating the program/certificate/degree you are working towards and why you think you should be chosen.  GPA of at least 2.5. A letter of recommendation from 1 employer and/or 1 advisor or teacher. Applications must be emailed to the NWIGCSA Scholarship Committee by no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2020.

Award

The NWIGCSA will select a scholarship winner based on academics, leadership and career preparation.  Scholarships will be awarded at the May Meeting at TPC Deere Run.

Funding

The NWIGCSA Student Scholarship is funded by the Membership of the NWIGCSA.
